Delhi coffee shop
In another daylight
The chair across from me would be occupied
Intermitted rain barrels through as a
Warning sing that heavens change
While the radio silence at my table
Reminds me that people do too.
There were more weddings rings
than cup of coffee in our posse.
And still I went out and talked up a storm
Talked so much I brought the hurricane
As if drowning in a desert is somehow
Less fetal to the terminal heart.
There’s a young couple waiting for a table,
boy holding red rose in one hand
And girl lost in whitenoise of thoughts,
I stand up, they say “no rush”
I tell them the same.
